TAP-ATL would like to cordially invite any First Generation Taiwanese in the Atlanta Community to participate in an APAHS/StoryCorps Atlanta Asian Pacific American Family Recording Day program to share your stories of your personal experiences in America or Taiwan. The stories will be recorded and archived with StoryCorps, APA Historical Society, and at the U.S. Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. In the past, select recordings have been broadcasted on NPR and WABE. This is a great way to spotlight and represent the Taiwanese community here in the US and any stories are welcome!
Recordings will need to be done in a conversation format. Participants can use whatever language they are comfortable with (Taiwanese, Hakka, Mandarin, or English). Sessions will last one hour, which includes time to complete paperwork (demographics, consent and release forms), answer any questions you have, and tell your story.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org by May 5th if you are interested in recording your story. We will schedule a phone conversation to walk you through the experience of a recording session, help you develop a list of potential questions, and help you brainstorm what you would like to speak about.
